Personal Bio
If you don't already know, my name is Matt Ward and this is my website. I've been around for somewhere in the neighbourhood of 28 years now, kicking it mostly in Ontario, except for a few years now in New Brunswick.
Currently, I make my humble abode in the town of Fergus, with my beautiful wife Kelly and adorable Daughter Brynn. As a husband and a father, I could not be more blessed.
As a kid I dreamed of playing Major League Baseball. Clearly that didn't happen, though I still maintain a very strong love of the game (go Jays!). As I grew into my teenage years, I veered away from baseball and more toward the arts. I loved to draw. I loved to read. I've been on that path ever since.
At 16 I started plotting my first novel. I've started it three times, completed one big draft, and am currently working on major revisions. God-willing, I should have if finished by the time I hit the dreaded 30. 14 years for one novel. That's not unresonable is it?
After high school I spent 5 years as a student at Wilfrid Laurier, completing my Bachelor's in English, then grabbing my Master's in an insane 8-month program. I also married my best friend in the entire world.
In 2006, I went to work for Highland Marketing, putting my degree to great use through... graphics design and web development... or not. Regardless, in the past three years, I have learned a lot about design. Given that knowledge, the critical thinking that was a product of my degrees, and what I humbly acknowledge as a natural artistic talent, I am now tapping into my creativity on a regular basis, either through design, illustration or creative writing.
