Royals T-shirt Concept

This design came about in kind of a cool way. I play on a mens slo-pitch team once a week during the summer. It's a pretty informal league, and while some of the guys have some older shirts from several years ago, before I was playing. My lovely wife suggested that maybe we should get some new shirts made up.

So, one game, while I was out in right field, I was thinking about tshirts, and this concept basically just popped into my head.

After the game, a bunch of the guys started talking about getting shirts done up, so I very quickly volunteered to do up a design, knowing exactly what I was going to do.  Since one of the other guys one the team is also a designer (and a great friend of mine), we decided to make it into a bit of a contest.

The concept was based on a couple of recent trends that I really like in t-shirt design. The first is just to have a whole bunch of vector grunge to create a cool looking effect. The second was to move the design of the chest to the up onto the shoulder.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the design.

I also need to give a shout out to GoPurifyYourself, over at DeviantArt, who designed the wicked t-shirt template used in this design!

UPDATE: For anyone who might be interested, this is the design that the guys decided to go with. It was a really tough choice though. The other design was great!
