Freebies
I'm giving stuff away! That's right, all of the stuff on this page is absolutely free for you to download an use in your own designs and works.
Abstract Blobs
This is my second seamless pattern, which was actually quite a bit more intricate to design than my earlier, Imperial Leaf Pattern. The inspiration of this pattern was basically just doodling shapes in Illustrator. I didn't even start with pencil and paper, the way I do with most of my designs. It's basically just a collection of interesting vector blobs, which I worked together to create a unique pattern. Hope you can find a use for this!
Photoshop Frames
These Photoshop frames were created as effects for use with some of my own photographs. I am making this publicly available for you to use in any of your designs, personal or commercial. They are really easy to use. All you have to do is paste your photograph into a new layer just above the background. The files are set up to let the image show through the transparent portions of the upper layers. Also, feel free to play with the other layers to create your own unique effect. Experiment and have fun!
Echo Twitter Bird
You may recognize this little fellow, who can be seen peaking out on my homepage and blog. I decided to make him available to you to use in your own designs. Just for the sake of variety and bit of flexibility, the Illustrator file actually contains four different wings, two positions for each the left and right wings. This way you can have the bird with its wings raised or lowered. Enjoy this one, and keep on tweeting!
Texture Pack 3 - Colours
This texture pack contains five unique, high-res wood textures that I captured over a period of a few months. I've been dreaming up this texture pack for quite some time, and knew exactly where I needed to go to get some of them (others were just awesome random finds). It just took me a while to get there with my camera and enough light to shoot. Anyhow, I really wanted to bring out the colour in some of these textures, so some of them have been slightly modified from their original, raw format. Fortunately, I think that the mods really add to the overall effect. Hope you enjoy these.
Imperial Leaf Pattern
This is my first seamless pattern, entitled Imperial Leaf. It is inspired by a lot of the great floral type patterns that are available out there right now. This pack contains the original Illustrator file, three Illustrator alternates along with PNG versions of all of them. I'm extremely happy with the way this pattern turned out, and I hope that you can find a great use for it. Enjoy.
Texture Pack 2 - Woods
This texture pack contains five unique, high-res wood textures that I captured over a period of a few months. There is quite a bit of variety in the the types of wood that photographed for this pack, so they should come in useful in a bunch of different circumstances. I know that wood textures are pretty popular and have a wide range of different uses, so I'm sure that you find a use for these.
Circles Brush Pack
This extensive brush pack contains 20 Illustrator brushes. The first 10 are circle scatter brushes, which you can use to make wicked patterns. Feel free to modify the parameters, to really get the most from these brushes. The other 10 are stacked lines, which were actually used to make the scatter brushes. You can use them to create your own cool circles, or to stroke other paths. As a bonus, the pack also includes the 10 shapes that I used to create the brushes.
Texture Pack 1
This texture pack contains five unique, high-res textures that I captured while out on an early spring walk with my wife and daughter. There's a variety of different surfaces in here, so I'm hopeful that they will prove useful. Have fun with these - I've already used a couple of them in designs myself!
Canada Day Vector
In celebration of Canada Day, I am giving away this Canada Package. The map can be used as a whole, but each province and territory is also its own vector, so you can use this as an archive of province shapes too. I also threw in a Canadian Maple Leaf for good measure. Enjoy and happy Canada Day!
Free Car Vector 1
This was vector was an experiment with blending modes in Illustrator. I used a single coloured shape as my base and then added shadows and highlights through blending modes. The cool thing about working like this is that, with all the shadow and highlights locked, you can just select the base shape and, in a few swift clicks, completely change the colour of the car. Download the vector and try it for yourself.
Lord Pheonix Heraldry Vector
This hand drawn vector was inspired by the recent trend towards cool vector heraldry. I wanted to give designing something like this a try, but also wanted to try to steer somewhat away from the classic heraldry beasts like lions, dragons, griffins and unicorns. Here we have a bit of heraldry inspired by the myth of the phoenix.
