Tuts+ Network

In my opinion, this is probably the single greatest collections of incredible, in depth tutorials available on the internet. The Tuts+ network contains a number of different sites, such as PSDTUTS+, designed specifically for Photoshoppers and VECTORTUTS+, designed for people developing and illustrating with vector images. There are also sites for Website Development, After Effects, Flash, 3D Graphics and Audio!

Many of these sites also offer exclusive freebies in addition to their constantly expanding collection of great and inspirational tutorials! This is a must-subscribe-to network of sites for any creative professional!

W3Schools

I'm not sure if there is another reference site that I have been using for as long as W3Schools. From a coding-for-the-Web perspective, this site is litterally a life saver. It contains detailed information about HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript and other technologies. It's super simple format makes it great for beginners who are just learning how to code in these different languages. It's also a great reference resource for coding vetrans who are looking for a bit of a refresher on an obscure of infrequently used element or function.

stock.xchng

Finding this site for the first time was, honestly, like a Godsend. Stock.xchng is a stock photography site that offers royalty-free stock for free. That's right. There is absolutely no charge to use any of the nearly 400,000 images that have been generously provided by some very skilled photographers.

There are some restrictions, such as having to notify and credit certain artists, or, in some cases requiring written permission before using any of the images. It's also fair to say that the quality and variety of the images is nowhere near as good as a site like iStockPhoto. Still, stock.xchng is an incredible resource for designers and artists who might be working on a tight budget.
