Braeside is a church-based, family oriented camp that serves my local area. 2010 marked their 75th anniversary, and they approached me about creating a custom logo to help commemorate the occasion.
Because Braeside is a camp filled with cottages and trailers, and surrounded by forests and river, I turned to the image of the tree. On one count, it works to convey the outdoorsy quality of the camp itself. On another, the maturity of the tree connotes the notion of age, which is appropriate in this circumstance.
The coloured bars are actually a reference to Braeside's main logo.
