About the Design

This is a logo I did for the senior high youth group for a local church. Since 'Missio Dei' means 'Mission of God' I wanted something that would convey both those ideas. The heraldric sheild is designed to represent the mission (or quest), while the wings are intended to connote a certain angelic (divine) quality.

The typeface in the shield is entirely custom, and I added in the extra grunge effect at the client's request.
